Jen completed her Master in Science of Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta in 2008. After completing school, Jen quickly found her passion in a holistic approach to treating the body through movement and became certified in Rehabilitation Pilates through STOTT Pilates. Shortly thereafter, she became interested in Pelvic Health Therapy and took courses to be able to assess and treat the pelvic floor muscles internally. She is also certified in Dry Needling through Kinetacore and Röst Therapy for pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain.
Jen uses all of these additional training techniques to inform how she looks at the body. Pelvic Health Physiotherapy assessments involve looking at the whole system from head to toe, including the spine, global movement and breath. An internal exam further helps to determine function of the muscles and target the treatment approach that will help the system work most optimally for each individual. Jen uses this wide skill set including external and internal (vaginal and/or rectal) assessment to support people in managing concerns related to pelvic health including:
-
Pre and post natal care – Vaginal and Cesarean Births
-
Birth Prepardness
-
Urinary or fecal incontinence
-
Pelvic Organ Prolapse
-
Diastasis Recti
-
Pelvic, Low Back, and Hip Pain
-
Dyspareunia, Vulvodynia, Vestibulodynia
-
Urinary urgency

-
Pre or Post surgical rehabilitation
-
Chronic back pain
-
